Troop 16

Troop16Welcome to Troop 16’s Web site, a place for new Scouts and their parents to learn about scouting and our troop.

Troop 16 Scouts meets every Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at HJ’s Youth Center of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. (Please note, we have a very abbreviated schedule during the summer months. Our calendar provides the latest information about current activities.)

Troop 16 is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council, Pioneer Trails District, in Kansas City, Missouri. Scouting is for boys ages 11-18. The program is designed to achieve BSA objectives through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with adult counsel. Our Motto, “Be Prepared” is recognized world-wide.

Scouting provides a tremendous learning and growing opportunity for boys and we are very pleased to provide a Scouting home for you and your family. We welcome boys from all backgrounds to join us.  We have boys from public and private schools, who live in Kansas or Missouri, and of varying faiths.

The Scouting tradition is more than a century old and still going strong at Troop 16. Through our weekly meetings and monthly campouts, boys have ample opportunity to learn about the outdoors and develop into strong leaders. We hope you will sense our enthusiasm for Scouting, see the quality of our program, and appreciate the quality of adult leadership we provide for troop activities.

Please feel free to visit, to join our troop, or simply to call, e-mail, and ask questions. If you would like to join our troop, please ask the Scoutmaster for an application or download one to print on your printer, fill out, and return it to the Scoutmaster. (Adult applications can be downloaded here.)
